A kind local guided baby sea turtles with their mother so they could return safely to the ocean.

Eko Narjianto assisted the newly hatched reptiles, along with conservationists at the Meru Bitiri National Park, in reaching the sea in East Java, Indonesia, on November 7.

Footage shows Eko pouring the baby turtles from a bucket beside their mum. Dozens of little shelled animals waddled on the sand beside the large adult.

Eko gave them space after the release so they could travel on their own.

He said: 'We are very lucky to witness nature this close.'

Meru Betiri National Park is a significant nesting site for several endangered sea turtle species. The park's beaches, particularly Sukamade Beach, serve as nesting grounds for leatherback, hawksbill, and green turtles.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) classifies most sea turtle species as endangered or threatened due to habitat loss, pollution, poaching, accidental bycatch, and drastic climate change.
