This is the touching moment children showering in the rain helped a student cross a flooded street using plastic chairs.

Footage captured by Keira Durano shows her classmate, Ariana, stepping on the chairs placed by two children playing in the rain in Cebu, the Philippines.

The youngsters can be seen moving the Monoblock chairs from behind her and placing them in front of the path on the roadside on July 16.

Keira said: 'We were on our way home, and the street in front of our school, which we were supposed to take, was already flooded, with water above knee level. So, the guard advised us to take the other option, which was the back of the school. But there was a bit of flooding there too, so we called the kids to ask for help.'

The Philippines and neighbouring Southeast Asian countries are entering their annual monsoon season, marked by soaring temperatures followed by intense rainstorms.

The region's low-lying geography, inadequate drainage systems, and rapid urbanisation make it especially vulnerable to flooding.

Limited infrastructure often struggles to handle the heavy rainfall, resulting in widespread flash floods.
