This is the dramatic moment a father and a daughter saved a mother choking on food.

The couple was eating while their child was sitting on the sofa when the woman suddenly choked on the meatball she was munching on in Bangkok, Thailand, on January 29.

CCTV footage shows the mum uncontrollably coughing as the food stuck in her throat.

Upon seeing this, the young girl immediately attempted to perform a Heimlich manoeuver by applying pressure to her mother's upper abdomen.

However, she was unable to properly do it, causing her dad to step in.

He can be seen standing behind his wife and wrapping his arms around her waist.

He then presses her abdomen repeatedly in an upward thrust until the food is dislodged, clearing her airway successfully.
