This is the heroic moment firefighters saved a puppy trapped in a sewer in Russia.
A group of kind-hearted passersby heard pitiful whimpers echoing from the drain, prompting them to call rescuers to the scene in Snezhnoye, Donetsk Oblast, on March 5.
Dramatic footage shows Russian Emergency Ministry workers removing the concrete cover of the manhole and lowering a ladder.
A brave responder then descended into the dim, narrow collector, which was two metres deep, and later pulled the distressed pooch out.
The rescuers said: 'Every life is important to us!'
