COCONINO COUNTY, Ariz. — A 32-year-old woman missing since Friday night was rescued Monday after an extensive three-day search near a dispersed camping area known as the “Edge of the World,” the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office announced.

The woman was reported missing around 10:30 p.m. on June 13 after she left her campsite and was believed to have descended into a nearby side canyon off Woody Mountain Road. Initial nighttime search efforts by Coconino County Search and Rescue teams were unsuccessful.

The multi-agency search continued through the weekend with support from the Yavapai and Maricopa County sheriff’s offices, ground crews, search dogs, and helicopters from Arizona Department of Public Safety and Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office. Despite a large-scale operation, no new clues were found until midday Monday.

Around 12:00 p.m., rescue crews located the woman, who was dehydrated and had minor injuries. Medical care was provided at the scene, and she was airlifted to safety.

Authorities credited the successful rescue to the coordinated efforts of multiple search and rescue teams and urged outdoor enthusiasts to take precautions when exploring remote areas.
