A Good Samaritan used rope and A basket to rescue two abandoned kittens that were trapped under a bridge.

Piegay Dedicatoria was walking home with her daughter when they heard faint meows coming from beneath a road in Cavite, the Philippines.

They spotted the distressed felines wrapped in a bag near a stream and quickly devised a rescue plan using available materials.

Footage shows Piegay gently lifting the blue container with moggies huddled together on June 16.

She said: ‘We saw the poor kittens under the bridge and fed them first using the basket.

‘We were not sure if they would climb in, but we were so happy when they did.'

Piegay and her daughter cheered when they finally retrieved the strays before taking them home to care for.

Piegay added: ‘I suspect someone deliberately threw them down into the stream. Whoever did that has no heart.'
