TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa Police officers turned routine patrol into a moment of community engagement last week, when they joined residents in an impromptu foot race.

While out on proactive patrol, officers spotted a chance to interact with locals in a lighthearted way—by literally racing them. The spontaneous event underscored the department’s ongoing efforts to build stronger community relationships.

“We’re just out here chasing better relationships, literally,” the department shared on its Facebook page, highlighting the positive and energetic exchange.
