This is the inspiring moment flood-hit residents were seen chanting prayers in knee-deep water.

Jordan Barlan witnessed a group of lively youngsters standing in circles, singing a Christian song in Manila, the Philippines.

Footage shows the resilient boys clapping and jumping in the water on July 24, brought by Typhoon Wipha as it moved towards Vietnam and China.

After their hymn, they splashed each other, playing joyfully in the waterlogged street.

Jordan said: 'We left the house to eat at a relative's place because we had no food left. We didn't have any stocks since we didn't expect this to happen.

'While walking there, we saw many people happily enjoying the flood despite the disaster.

'We passed a group of young people repeatedly singing praises to God—still hopeful and believing that no matter what happens, God will not abandon us.'
