EDMOND, Okla. — Edmond police released video of a felony pursuit showing how its field training program prepares new officers for high-pressure situations.

According to the department, Officer DeRose took the lead during the pursuit while Field Training Officer Lindsey coached from the passenger seat. The chase involved a suspect wanted on a felony warrant who had threatened his ex-girlfriend, broken her apartment window and stolen her vehicle.

The footage captures DeRose moving into the primary position and following instructions as the pursuit unfolded through Edmond. Police said the incident highlights the importance of real-time guidance during on-the-job training.
