Floods hit villages in Laos as Typhoon Kajiki battered the region with heavy rain.

Footage shows rice fields and roads submerged in floodwaters in Thathom, Xaisomboun, on August 27.

Kajiki made landfall in Vietnam on Monday, leaving at least seven people dead, one missing, and 34 others injured. Officials said more than 7,000 homes have been damaged during the storm.

In Thailand, a landslide triggered by the storm killed at least two people.

The weather system has since crossed into Laos and weakened into a tropical depression, with wind speeds of up to 55mph.

Authorities warned that the freak weather is also expected to affect northern Thailand, eastern Cambodia, and central Myanmar.
