House collapses into river as floods kill 15 in Bali
This is the dramatic moment a house collapsed into a river as floods killed 15 people in Bali.
Footage shows the white building tilting on the edge of the bank as strong currents struck the land in East Selemadeg, Tabanan Regency.
Moments later, the structure plunged into the Yeh Matan River, with its roof, walls, and foundations crumbling on September 9.
Dewa Made Widarma, the council leader of the Tegal Mengkeb village, said: 'The structure caved in because it was eroded by waves, plus the water from the river was also strong, so it met and hit the building.'
The disaster caused losses estimated at 400 million IDR (approximately 20,000 GBP).
The building had been used by fishermen as a meeting place and to monitor fishing activities.
On Wednesday, vehicles became stranded in floodwaters in Denpasar, Bali, with homes also submerged in some areas.
On September 10, a three-storey home collapsed along the banks of the Badung River. At least three residents, a mother and her children, were reported missing following the incident.
In another part of the island, a woman was swept away by strong currents after falling from her motorcycle while attempting to cross a flooded road with her husband in Jembrana Regency.
In nearby Negara City, a hotel was inundated, forcing guests to evacuate to safer ground.
Reports said the intense downpour began on Tuesday morning, lashing the island and triggering floods in several villages across the region.
