Firemen rescue terrified toddler stuck in washing machine
This is the dramatic moment firefighters rescued a terrified toddler who became trapped inside a washing machine.
Frantic parents called the fire brigade after their seven-year-old child was stuck in the dryer drum at their home in Depok, Indonesia.
Footage shows three officers gathered around the appliance, with the boy's feet and hands above his head and part of his face still visible in September 20.
The rescuers attempted to calm the youngster, who appeared to be in shock, before carefully lifting him out as he screamed in pain.
After successfully freeing the boy, he was gently carried down and checked over by other officers.
He reportedly did not sustain any injuries.
Local media reported that the parents had tried unsuccessfully to pull him out before seeking help.
Tesy Haryati, Head of the Fire and Rescue Operations Control Division, said: 'The boy was screaming and crying and we had to work quickly as we feared he might struggle to breathe.'
The child's mother recalled that her hyperactive son had been running around the house unattended while she and her husband were in the bathroom. He then climbed onto the washing machine and somehow became stuck inside the drum.
It is estimated that the boy was trapped for around 10 minutes before firefighters arrived.
