A fishing boat capsized leaving at least two fishermen missing and one injured in Malaysia.

The vessel was overturned by strong winds and rough seas around three nautical miles northwest of Tanjung Payung, near Bintulu, on Wednesday evening.

Bintulu Zone director Captain Muhammad Suffian Eldine Abdullah of the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) said the distress alert was received at around 6:15 pm after a tugboat crew rescued the survivors.

Dramatic footage shows emergency responders racing to save the stranded anglers as they clung to the overturned vessel.

The distressed crew members were then seen leaping into the water as rescuers tossed lifebuoys toward them.

Four people were pulled to safety, one of whom suffered injuries to his hand and chin before being taken to the hospital for treatment.

The search continues for the two missing fishers.

Authorities urged boat operators to avoid sailing during rough weather and to follow maritime safety measures to prevent such incidents.
