US, Bakersfield: Bakersfield Investigation Of 1 Dead From Shooting
Bakersfield, United States - January 02, 2026 01/02/2026 02:38 am GMT-0800 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – A shooting early Friday morning left one person dead near East Warren Avenue and Wistaria Street. At approximately 2:38 a.m., officers discovered a person suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. They initiated CPR until fire and medical crews arrived to continue care. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation into the shooting is underway, with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office and Kern County Fire Department responding to the incident.
