Bakersfield, United States - December 26, 2025 12/25/2025 10:11 pm GMT-0800 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Two people were found fatally shot late Thursday night at a Bakersfield residence, police said. Officers with the Bakersfield Police Department responded to a reported shooting at approximately 10:11 p.m. Thursday in the 2700 block of Blade Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man and a woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, police said. Both victims died at the scene. Detectives from the Bakersfield Police Department’s Homicide Unit took over the investigation. The Kern County Coroner’s Office will release the identities of the victims and the official causes of death at a later time. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
