Tourist covered in blood after 'being attacked with bottles'
A tourist's first holiday ended in a bloodbath after he was allegedly attacked by five youths with BOTTLES.
Ali Khadem, 29, said he was travelling abroad for the first time to have a dream holiday in Pattaya, Thailand.
But within days of arriving he said that a gang of four or five locals had assaulted him and struck him repeatedly in the face with glass bottles.
Ali, a perfume shop owner in Iran, was pictured covered in blood as he received treatment outside the city's police station after the alleged attack at 5am this morning (Tue).
He said: ''There was about four or five of them and they ambushed me. Before I could do anything they were smashing me on the head with bottles.
''I was with my friends and we could not fight back, we just ran, ran away as quickly as we could. I don't know why they did this to me.''
Ali said his first holiday had become a ''nightmare'' and he wanted the men to be caught.
He was treated for wounds to his head while police arrested two local men in connection with the attack.
Officers are now checking CCTV footage to piece together the incident.
Pol Capt Thanongsak Inpadung, deputy investigation chief, said: ''Mr Khadem is receiving treatment in hospital for his wounds. The details of the attack are still unknown.
''Some of the group of tourists have already left and they do not disclose the details. We expect that the friends of the wounded man may be in a panic.
''Two suspects were detained but they denied involvement in the attack. We are now checking CCTV cameras in the area.''
