A blood-covered tourist holds his head in pain after being whacked with an ash tray - for refusing to pay his bill at a STRIP CLUB.
Robert Negas, 38, had been drinking with pals at the 'We are No 1 A Go Go' bar.

But the holidaymaker allegedly became aggressive and tried to leave without paying his 1,380 baht (32gbp) tab for drinks at closing time.

CCTV showed dancers trying to hold back Negas as he gets into a scuffle with the manager and other staff.

One of the group smashed the tourist, from Czech Republic, over the head with a glass ashtray used for smoking inside the building but the manager Anuwat Bunkert told police it was in self-defence.

He said: ''There were four of them. They had a bill for 1,380 baht. But they would not pay and started fighting.

''We hit the man with an ashtray but he started the fight. This was self-defence. The tourists were guilty because they did not pay then started a fight. My staff were only defending themselves.''

Police said they were investigating the incident by checking CCTV and speaking to each of the people involved through translators.
