This is the moment an incredibly brave victim tries to stop two robbers who snatched his bag with money.

He hangs on to their get away bike but is forced to drop off after they drag him for some distance.

The chilling incident occurred at Ambalayara village in Aravalli district in north-western India on February 22.

Two men accosted the victim who worked for a traditional money courier company and snatched his bag containing Rs 7.7 lakh.

The man chased them and tried to stop them by latching on to their bike. But he gave up after he lost grip and fell on the road.

The man, who was slightly injured, was taken to a hospital where he was discharged after first aid.

Ambalayara police said the man stopped his car at the bus stand to buy something when the robbers struck.

“He grabbed their bike instinctively and was dragged. We are trying to identify the perpetrators with the help of CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts,” said a local officer.

Police said the victim worked for an ‘angadiya pedhi’ company and was probably tailed by the robbers.

‘Angadiya pedhi’ companies offer traditional money courier services to merchants in Gujarat. They transport money and jewellery informally and with little security counting on secrecy of their movement.

They often victims to criminals who manage to unearth information about them.
