A heartwarming video has emerged of a distressed dog being rescued by locals in western India. The incident took place on Apr 26 in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra state.

Captured on camera, visuals showed a dog trying to get out of an abandoned swimming pool of a sports complex. However, as the height of the walls were very high, the quadruped could not scale those. In came help from locals- people who had been practicing inside the facility. The placed a discarded steel sheet to aid the dog.

As soon as the dog jumped on it, the sheet caved in under pressure. But, the people, much like the dog, were relentless in their bid to help the animal.

They tried placing a noose around the animal's neck, however, it proved futile as the animal ran away.

Next, the placed a wooden plank. The dog also tried to help itself by leaping and holding on to the wall, but failed. It decided to give the plank a try and after several minutes, managed to get out of the pool successfully.
