A group of young men caught a 15-foot-long python after it strayed into a residential area in southern India.

The incident took place on August 22 at Ravanasamudram village in Tamil Nadu state.

A video shows the group moving the giant reptile away from homes and placing it in a sack.

They then handed the animal over to the authorities for relocation.

Video shows a group of men moving the snake from the residential area. One of the men can be seen dragging the giant reptile through the tarred road.

The men survived a mini-scare as the python suddenly opened its mouth, visibly to attack.

But the men braved all the obstacles and finally managed to put the snake inside a sack.

They then handed over the snake to rescue officials.

In a similar incident, rescue officials captured and later released a 14-feet-long python from a residential area at Nagaon city in Assam state.
