State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team has rescued a cow that was stranded amid the strong water current amid a river in northern India's Uttarakhand.

The visual came out of Bhagirathi river near Manikarnika Ghat in Uttarkashi town of the eponymous district on July 15.

Reports suggest the rescue team reached the spot on July 14 night, however, were unable to rescue amid the strong water current.

They attempted the rescue again the following morning on July 15.

A team lead by Inspector Shri Vikas Pundir tied harness on the body of the cow in order to pull it out.

The video shows several SDRF team members hauling out of the cow using ropes attached to the harness.

After a two-hour-long operation, they managed to get the cow of the river safely.

The SDRF team has protected the lives of hundreds of bovines through numerous rescue campaigns in the heterogeneous geographical position and fast-flowing rivers across the state.
