This is the shocking moment a garbage truck skidded on a wet road and flipped over into an oncoming car.

Wuttichai Kongtham Eye, 33, was driving on the opposite lane with his wife when the out-of-control truck approached them in Bangkok, Thailand, on October 30.

The truck spun from the opposite lane across the traffic island while hurtling towards them.

Wuttichai hit the brakes as fast as he could but the dustbin lorry drifted along the wet road and fell onto their car.

Miraculously, Wuttichai and his wife escaped unhurt. While the garbage truck driver Chaisit Kerdsiri, 55, and his passenger, were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The couple were given first aid treatment by paramedics who arrived at the scene before taking them to Chularat Hospital for check-ups.

The garbage truck blocked the road and caused a traffic jam on the highway but it was removed after an hour using a towing truck.

Local police said the truck tried to make a turn in the opposite lane but the slippery road caused it to lose control.

The officers are still investigating the case and will interview both drivers again after they are discharged from the hospital.
