Elephant spotted descending mountain amid woods in Sri Lanka
An elephant was spotted descending a mountain amid the woods to drink water in Sri Lanka's North central province. The elephant was found amidst the forest cover of Madatugama.
A video shot on November 20 witnessing the incident features the elephant climbing down the mountain covered in dense forests. A different angle showcases the elephant moving closer to the clearing across the woods.
Close to 100 elephants are found in the region the elephant was spotted. These elephants are known for straying into villages in the mountains looking for food during the day. They spend the afternoons lazing around and sleeping before descending the same mountains in search of water.
