Mount Ile Lewotolok erupts on Indonesia's Lembata Island
Indonesian volcano Mount Ile Lewotolok erupted on Sunday (29 November), sending huge plumes of ash into the sky.
The mountain, which is also often called Mount Ile Ape, is on the island of Lembata in East Nusa Tenggara.
The Volcanological Survey of Indonesia (abbreviated as PVMBG in Indonesian) of the Ile Lewotolok Mountain Observation Post stated that the eruption began at 05:57 local time.
The ash column was about 500 metres above the summit. Ash and sand rained down on nearby villages.
The video was taken by an East Nusa Tenggara (abbreviated as NTT in Indonesian) volunteer named Diego Alif Sarabiti Putra.
