The forest officials have apprehended the hunters involved in killing a Sambar deer in central India's Madhya Pradesh on February 23. The incident took place in Barkoti village in the Sagar district.

A video witnessing the incident features the officials apprehending and bringing the poachers into the police station. Around five to six hunters are detained by the authorities for further interrogation. Following this, the officers obtain the skin of the deer from them and seize it. Moreover, they also discover the location where the creature got electrocuted.

The incidents of wildlife hunting have been rapidly increasing in the Nauradehi Forest Sanctuary. The residents in and around the region have been involved in hunting several creatures and continue to do so. However, the officials have been in the process of finding these hunters and have been detaining them.

On Sunday, a Sambar deer was trapped and electrocuted by the poachers during the night. Following this incident, the forest officials apprehended six people and interrogated them. On further investigation, about five people were detained due to their involvement in hunting the creature.

Moreover, the officials seized and recovered four-kilogram (8.8 lbs) meat, skin, and various weapons from the accused. Furthermore, these hunters were presented in the First Sessions court for their hearing, and four of them have been arrested and sent to jail. However, the police believe that over 10 people were involved in this crime and further investigation is underway.
