Case of Cape Town underworld boss postponed as he is remanded in custody

The case of Cape Town underworld crime boss, Nafiz Modack, was postponed in the Cape Town Magistrates's, as he appeared in the dock under heavy security. Modack is facing a string of charges in various cases in different courts. He faces several criminal charges including kidnapping, conspiracy to murder and extortion.

Supporters of Modack held a placard demonstration outside the court demanding that he be released and claiming that he had been framed.

The case was postponed to 14 May 2021 and will be heard in the Blue Downs Magistrate's court.
