Man dives to rescue sister attempting to commit suicide by jumping into lake in central India
A woman dove into the lake in a bid to end her life in central India's Madhya Pradesh on May 15. The incident took place in Upper Lake in Bhopal's VIP road.
A video features a woman trying to stay afloat after plunging into the lake in broad daylight. Following this, the onlookers in the region guide her through the process and instruct her to flap her hands to avoid drowning in the waterbody. However, within moments, her brother arrives and dives into the lake and rescues her. Moreover, a couple of people revive and stabilize her condition on a boat and bring her ashore.
A spine-chilling incident transpired in Bhopal where a 21-year-old student, Deepi Singh, residing in the airport road, sprung in the Upper Lake to commit suicide after her 25-year-old brother refused to give her a camera-enabled cellphone owing to the lockdown imposed in the city. Following this, she attempted to stay afloat to avoid sinking in the waterbody while the locals in the region supervised her to continuously strike her hand against the water. After a while, she gets worn out and begins to drown. However, she gained the strength to stay on top while her brother dove to bring her into safety.
Her brother successfully rescued her and brought her on the shore with the help of others after stabilizing her on a lifeboat. Moreover, she was admitted to Hamidia Hospital after she began to lose consciousness. However, the doctors have advised the police officials to avoid interrogating her as her condition deteriorated following the incident. Furthermore, an investigation into the matter is underway.
