A spine-chilling incident came to the fore in which the survival of a family became a life-threatening situation in northern India's Punjab on July 22. The incident took place in Amritsar.

Visuals feature the officials raiding the dairy farm and spotting two locked rooms. After peeking inside, they see the family of five made to live in two separate rooms while the man is tied to chains at all times. The officials free them and interrogate the matter while inspecting the premises to find more evidence.

The victims included Jasveer Singh, his wife Baljit Kaur, sons Gurjit Singh, Fateh Singh, and a daughter Reet Kaur. These five members worked as bonded laborers and were rescued by Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) based on reliable input. The raid was conducted on the dairy farm in Fatehpur with help of officials of civil and police administration.

Moreover, it was revealed that the family was confined to the farm for over five years while the children were not allowed to go to school. Jasveer worked as a bonded laborer in Mohinder Singh's farm since 2016 after he was assured a monthly salary of Rs. 3,000 (USD 40).

However, the family's daily grind was endless, and they used to get only an hour to rest, in which Jasveer was kept in shackles and was not allowed to leave the farm. Unfortunately, the accused fled from the farm while a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against him.
