Flood victim climbs over broken bridge to meet her stranded mum during storms in Malaysia
A woman desperate to meet her mum climbed over a broken bridge after floods hit Malaysia over the weekend.
Video shows the lady clinging for balance onto the railings of the destroyed bridge in flood-stricken Terengganu state on February 28.
Without using ropes or safety harnesses, she stepped on the bridge's broken frame and made her way across, undaunted by the steep fall and gushing river below.
She reportedly wanted to meet her mother, with whom she lost contact for two days after severe rains hit the state.
The woman successfully negotiated the treacherous crossing and was helped up by bystanders on the other side of the bridge.
Malaysia and parts of southern Thailand close to the border suffered heavy rain and floods last week. In Malaysia, more than 12,000 residents were displaced as continuous rain swamped towns on the peninsula's east coast.
