Due to water scarcity and negligence of authorities, the villagers are facing a water crisis in central India's Madhya Pradesh. Visuals shot on April 17 feature the worsening situation in village Sukha, located in the Patharia town of the Damoh district.

Visuals feature several men and women gathered near the only working hand pump in the village. They crowd the region and await their turn in the scorching heat while carrying several containers to fill with water.

According to reports, the village has 15 hand pumps but only a single tubewell. Moreover, nearly 3 thousand people reside in the region and have complained to the authorities several times about the depreciating water condition, but their cries for help fall on deaf ears.
