West Midlands Police are sifting through earth from a skip where human remains were found on Saturday 27 August in Tipton Cemetery, close to Dudley.

Three blue forensic tents could be seen on Tuesday 30 August afternoon along with several police vans, forensics officers in white suits and a cordon at the end of the graveyard, just yards from Tipton's Q3 Academy playground.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: ‘We're investigating after human remains were found in a skip at Tipton Cemetery, Alexandra Road, on Saturday evening (August 27).

'The area has been cordoned off for further searches to be carried out.

‘They will undergo forensic and archaeological analysis.

‘There is no information linking this discovery to a criminal investigation at this stage.’
