Scary moment planes rocked from side to side landing at Birmingham Airport in gale-force winds
This was the terrifying moment pilots battled to land in extreme 50mph crosswinds at Birmingham Airport.
The skilled pilots struggled to land as strong winds battered Birmingham’s BHX Airport on Monday 19 December.
Several light aircraft powered by small jet engines or propellers got the brunt of the turbulance.
However one larger Jet2 flight from Milan to the Midlands airport was also violenty rocked as it approached the runway.
Strong winds have hit the United Kingdom as high and low pressure systems have met with the UK sandwiched in the middle causing fierce winds.
The storm, which also brought very mild temperatures, is expected to last for one day only.
