This is the heartwarming moment a clumsy cat with its head stuck in a can was rescued with a hacksaw.

Kristal Eduyan discovered her cat Jessie stuck inside a can of cat food in her apartment in Davao City, Davao del Sur, the Philippines, on March 22.

The owner heard a banging noise at the back porch of the apartment, and she saw that her cat was in distress as its head was stuck inside the can.

Footage shows a utility worker named Bolao splitting the tin can while the cat was wrapped with a blanket to keep it calm.

The rescuer used a hacksaw and pliers to free the orange cat.

They successfully removed the object from its head, causing relief for the owner and the feline.

The owner initially tried to remove the can from the cat's head by pulling it, but she realized the cat couldn't breathe properly, so she made a small hole in the can.

Kristal said: 'I was so worried and scared that Jessie might have died already because of the lack of air. But to my surprise, he was still active and running around while we were trying to hold him.'

The animal was not harmed during the rescue and resumed playing and hunting afterward.
