Elderly pedestrian cheats death in harrowing car collision in China
An elderly pedestrian cheated death in a harrowing car collision in cetral China.
The CCTV footage was filmed in Enshi City in Hubei Province on April 5.
A white pickup truck, proceeding straight, collided with a black car attempting a left turn, right next to where an unsuspecting elderly man stood. By a stroke of sheer luck, the elderly man found himself in the tiny safe zone between the two vehicles, escaping unscathed from what could have been a fatal incident.
The impact sent the white pickup truck veering uncontrollably towards the sidewalk, where a woman, engrossed in collecting recyclables, displayed lightning-quick reflexes. In a split second, she dashed away, narrowly missing the out-of-control vehicle as it barrelled past her.
Eyewitnesses to the harrowing near-misses were quick to point out that the root cause of the accident was a lack of caution and reduced speed by both drivers while navigating the intersection.
Miraculously, the incident resulted in no injuries. As the dust settles, the specifics of the incident, including the ultimate cause and subsequent actions, are left in the hands of the traffic police department for further investigation and resolution.
