Sar Team Successfully Evacuates Gold Mine Landslide Victims in Solok Regency, West Sumatra
Entering the fourth day after the illegal gold mining landslide tragedy occurred in Nagari Sungai Abu, Hiliran Gumanti District, Solok Regency, West Sumatra, the joint SAR Team, Sunday 29 September 2024, is still working hard to evacuate the last victim from the scene. This search and rescue operation was faced with long distances and difficult terrain. The evacuation was carried out after the SAR team succeeded in reaching the location where the last victim was found. The evacuation process involved various agencies, including Basarnas, police, TNI and local communities. Kasih Ops Basarnas Hendri said that up to now the number of victims in the incident is 25 people, with details of 12 dead, 12 surviving and one victim still in the process of being evacuated. Abdul said, apart from the distance and difficult terrain, the evacuation process was also hampered by rainy weather conditions. So the team in the field decided to make a bivouac and continue the evacuation this morning. It is known that 25 illegal gold miners were victims of the landslide that occurred on Thursday 26 September 2024. The lack of information caused confusion in the number of victims until finally 25 victims were locked up, 12 died, 12 survived and were injured and one was still in the process of being evacuated.
