This is the dramatic moment passing drivers rescued a motorist who was engulfed in flames from a car crash in China.

Road users noticed the victim scrambling from the wreckage of the vehicle as flames rapidly spread following the collision on a highway in Sichuan on January 22.

Two cars swerved past the fireball before pulling over.

Dashcam footage shows a quick-thinking driver stepping out of his black van, which was parked on the roadside, while a grey sedan quickly veered into the opposite lane and stopped to help.

Both kindhearted men can be seen opening their trunks to find a fire extinguisher, while other motorists rush to assist.

They then sprayed the extinguisher directly on the victim, quickly putting out the flames.

An ambulance was reportedly called to transport him to a nearby hospital to his burns and wounds, and he is currently recovering from the injuries.

Earlier that morning in Bazhong, a vehicle crash took place on a bridge, claiming the lives of five people and leaving one person critically injured. The incident led to a multi-vehicle collision and a fire.
