On the evening of February 1, a harrowing incident occurred at Shanghai South Railway Station when a 4-year-old boy accidentally fell into the gap between a train and the platform, creating a dangerous situation. Fortunately, officers from the Shanghai Railway Police Patrol and train staff responded quickly and successfully rescued the child.

At 8:49 p.m., Train D10, bound for Beijing South, was stationed at Platform 4 as passengers boarded in an orderly manner. After descending an escalator with his parents, the boy, seeing a train up close for the first time, curiously reached out to touch the carriage but accidentally fell into the platform gap. His cries drew the attention of nearby passengers, who called for help. Police officers rushed to the scene.

The officer knelt to assess the boy's condition, finding him stuck and visibly distressed. To rescue him swiftly, the officer calmed the child and identified the best angle for extraction.

In just 50 seconds, the officer and train staff successfully pulled the child from the gap. A preliminary examination showed the boy was only shaken but physically unharmed.

After the incident, the officer advised the boy's parents to pay closer attention to their child's safety to prevent similar incidents in the future.
