This is the terrifying moment a Sumatran tiger was seen on CCTV chasing a pet dog through a family home in Indonesia.

Footage shows the predator prowling through the yard before leaping from a cart and pursuing the dog in Penyengat Village, Siak District, Riau Province.

Moments later, the wild cat returned with the helpless pooch in its mouth as it fled the scene.

Another clip shows the uninvited large feline returning with its companion two days later, once again searching for a victim as they roamed the vicinity.

Locals have alerted authorities about the growing presence of wild animals in the residential area.
