Cabin view of train crashing into a truck in Vietnam
Terrifying footage shows a cabin view as a train crashes into a truck in Vietnam.
The incident occurred in Vu Quang District, Ha Tinh Province, on March 1, paralysing North-South railway traffic.
Local media reported that the truck was attempting to cross a level crossing in Duc Lien Commune when it experienced engine failure upon reaching the railway intersection in Lien Hoa Village.
Upon realising the mechanical issue, the driver quickly exited the vehicle. Just moments later, a southbound SH62 cargo train came barreling through and collided with the immobilised truck.
Heart-stopping dashcam footage captures the dramatic impact, showing the distressed train operator struggling to respond as the locomotive strikes the vehicle.
The force of the collision severely deformed the truck's front and split its body in half.
Three train cars overturned, and several metres of railway track were thrown off alignment.
No casualties were reported despite the severity of the collision.
In another incident, a truck driver stuck on a level crossing in Haiphong narrowly avoided being struck by an oncoming train on April 8.
The motorist attempted to lift the automatic barrier, but when it would not budge, he quickly reversed the vehicle just seconds before the train reached the junction, narrowly escaping disaster.
