In a dramatic scene, police officers in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, arrested a man who tried to flee after crashing into another vehicle.

Officers were called after the suspect reportedly hit another car and attempted to drive away. When officers arrived, they found the man with bloodshot eyes and smelling strongly of alcohol. He tried to walk off, ignored police commands, and then attempted to run—but didn’t get far before being caught.

After taking him into custody, officers discovered several empty bottles of tequila inside his truck. It was later revealed that the man had three previous DUI convictions, making him eligible for felony charges under Colorado law.

"Don’t try to outrun WRPD. Especially if you’ve been drinking," police said. "Don’t drive drunk. We’ll catch up to you."
