This is the heartwarming moment kind cops bought gas for a driver stranded with an empty tank in Florida.

The officers recalled being alerted to respond to a broken-down vehicle at the intersection of Royal Palm Boulevard and University Drive in Coral Springs.

Bodycam footage shows the officers approaching the white vehicle, where the man was sitting, on April 21.

The car owner explained that he had already called roadside assistance and was waiting for a tow.

He then shared that he had been living out of his car for a year and, with no gas, faced a long wait for help.

Moved by his situation, the officers decided they couldn't leave him stranded.

One officer quickly volunteered to run to a nearby gas station, using his own money to buy gas. He returned to the parking area and poured the fuel into the man's van.

The cop said in the video: 'Let's hope this is enough.'

The driver expressed his heartfelt gratitude, thanking the officers for their kindness.

The officers reassured him, saying: 'The best part from here, it's only going up.'
