A resident found a baby cobra slithering through pots and pans in her kitchen.

Footage shows the serpent's tiny tail poking out of a dish drying rack on the counter of a home in Nonthaburi province, Thailand.

The juvenile reptile tried to hide behind the glassware, but its dark colour could be easily spotted among the white tiles.

The calm house owners gave it some space to allow it to crawl out of the narrow space before it fell into the sink.

Rescuers arrived at the property to evacuate it later.

Resident Peta said: 'A baby cobra was slithering on our kitchen counter while I was getting a bowl during dinner. I called the rescue team to come and catch it.'

The volunteers used a torch to search for the snake when they arrived and successfully put it in a plastic bag.

They took it to their facility to be rehabilitated before being released into the wild.
