PORTER, Ind. — Town of Porter Police Chief Todd Allen gave his final 10-42 call at 3 p.m. on July 4, marking the end of more than 30 years of dedicated law enforcement service to the Porter and Duneland communities.

Chief Allen’s career began as a patrol officer and progressed through the ranks, including titles such as sergeant and assistant chief, before becoming chief. Known for his steady leadership and commitment to public safety, he was respected by colleagues and beloved by the community he served.

While colleagues celebrated his professional legacy, friends and family emphasized the roles he cherished most—husband, father and friend. The department thanked his family for their support over the years and wished Chief Allen a fulfilling retirement.
