PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. — A high-speed pursuit that began with a stop sign violation in Pleasant Prairie on June 28 ended across state lines in Illinois with the arrest of a fleeing driver, authorities said.

The chase topped 100 mph and involved multiple law enforcement agencies as the suspect struck several squad vehicles while attempting to evade arrest. Officers made multiple efforts to deploy tire deflation devices, ultimately succeeding in safely stopping the vehicle.

The driver was taken into custody without further incident and faces numerous charges including felony fleeing/eluding, five counts of first-degree reckless endangering safety, hit and run, possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, OWI, and additional municipal citations.

The Pleasant Prairie Police Department expressed gratitude to the Kenosha County Sheriff's Office, Zion Police Department, Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Zion Fire-Rescue Department, and Wisconsin State Patrol for their assistance.
