This is the thrilling moment wild monkeys raided a car, leaving its passengers terrified.

Soap vendor Areeya Raksayot and her friend were transporting goods and food when the marauding primates leapt onto their car in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Thailand.

Footage shows the hungry animals looting the vehicle, grabbing cookies, snacks, and soaps on October 20.

Areeya and her friend were heard screaming in fear as the mischievous animals climbed onto the car dashboard and the driver's seat.

She said: 'That was so terrifying, and after they took a lot of things inside the car, we just could not help but cry and tremble.'

Thailand is facing a macaque overpopulation as thousands of monkeys in cities like Lopburi have become aggressive due to being fed by tourists and locals. Their increasing numbers have led to property damage, attacks on people, and difficulties for residents and businesses
