BOISE, Idaho — As National Stop on Red Week begins, the Idaho State Police released dramatic video of a crash caused by a red-light violation to highlight the deadly consequences of reckless driving.

According to officials, the crash occurred when a driver ran a red light at 111 mph, striking another vehicle that had the right of way. The driver who was hit was following all traffic laws and never saw the crash coming.

“While you shouldn’t have to second-guess a green light, a quick glance might save your life,” ISP said in the post. The agency is urging drivers to stop on red every time and be extra alert at intersections.
