GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. — After 30 years in law enforcement, Deputy Jeff Saylor of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office signed off for the final time in an emotional farewell.

Saylor, who spent 14 of those years serving Greene County, expected his last radio call to be routine. Instead, the voice on the other end belonged to his daughter, who delivered the acknowledgment. The surprise made the already bittersweet moment even more powerful.

“Thank you, Deputy Saylor, for your service, sacrifice and dedication to our community,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. “Wishing you a long, happy retirement.”

The heartfelt sign-off and father-daughter exchange left many reaching for tissues, marking the close of a long career dedicated to public safety.
