Buck Crashes Into Ridge Bank, Officers Guide Deer Safely Out

RIDGE, N.Y. — Suffolk County police responding to a burglary alarm at a bank in Ridge on Sunday encountered an unexpected intruder when a buck crashed through a window and became trapped inside the building.

According to the Suffolk County Police Department, officers arrived to find the deer frantically attempting to escape on its own, causing damage as it moved through the bank.

Officers were able to safely lasso the animal and guide it out of the building without injury. The deer was released and ran off without further incident.

Police credited Seventh Precinct Officers Connor Kehoe, Jason Famoso, Shane Matedero, Michael Pitts and Salvatore Zafonte for their calm and coordinated response in safely resolving the unusual call.

No injuries were reported.
