Cyclone Titli blew away the tin roofs of several homes as if they were made of paper in a village in Ganjam district of Odisha, India on October 11.

"Titli", which means butterfly in Hindi, made landfall in the beach town of Gopalpur in Odisha between 4:30 and 5:30 this morning with wind speeds of 140 to 150 kmph.

Strong winds and heavy rain uprooted trees and electric poles in several parts of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.

More than 300,000 people have been moved to safety in Odisha alone.

Flights and train services between Andhra and Odisha have also been affected because of Cyclone Titli, which has been categorised as a "very severe cyclonic storm".

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Orissa Disaster Rapid Action Force have already been positioned in vulnerable districts.
