This is the dramatic moment a security guards leaps out of the way when a bungling 4x4 driver smashes through a hospital door.

CCTV captured the worker walking past an entrance to the St Luke's Hospital in Taguig, Philippines, during his morning routine on October 17 at 7:30am.

Moments later the silver Mitsubishi Montero Sport comes hurtling towards the door, forcing the guard to leap for cover as the vehicle ploughs through the doorway.

Debris flies through the air as the SUV continues through the entrace room before hitting a second doorway and finally coming to a stop several metres inside the buidling.

The driver, Johann Dizon, 53, climbed from the wreckage unscathed and told staff he was driving to the hospital to pick up a patient when he lost control of the car.

Superintendent Alexander Santos of the Taguig City police said: ''The incident was caused by driver error, and had nothing to do with sudden unintended acceleration reported in Montero models in the past.

''We are conducting a thorough examination of the evidence to find the cause.''
